A professional singer, pianist, sound engineer and songwriter for twenty years, John Scott's musical talents possess heavy influences of gospel, pop, rock, and R&B. A seasoned instructor, John has been teaching music for over fourteen years. His teaching philosophy is one of individuality - in every lesson, John aims to help each singer discover his or her true voice. By identifying key strengths and weaknesses, John works with each student to develop a plan to improve vocal ability and technique. John has written and recorded hundreds of songs, has a long history of both concert and studio performance, and has worked as a sound engineer, arranger, and producer for countless artists. Giving up a career as a research scientist fifteen years ago to follow his passion of singing, John has focused his energies understanding the human voice. He has endeavored to find the most effective teaching techniques available, sometimes flying to Los Angeles work with the best teachers.
